FAISALABAD, Nov 10 (APP):Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Sohail Qadir Cheema has directed WASA officers to tag all desilting activities of main drainage channels on Google maps to ensure transparent monitoring and precise tracking of progress.
Presiding over a review meeting, he announced that he would personally inspect desilting work of roadside drains along various roads across the city.
He said that desilting of all main channels, roadside drainage lines and sewerage networks should be completed before the onset of next monsoon season to guarantee efficient drainage and uninterrupted civic services during heavy rains.
He said that Google maps would help mark completed desilting stretches easily in addition to identify unattended areas in the city.
He said that desilting work along Mall Road, National Road, Minerva Road, Regal Road and Sialvi Colony in Ghulam Muhammad Abad had already been completed and he would positively visit these sites to inspect quality and scope of the work.
He said that mechanical and manual desilting of main channels and roadside drains is being followed strictly according to prescribed schedule and no negligence or delay in this process would be tolerated.
Deputy Managing Director (O&M) Usman Lateef, DMD Engineering Saqib Raza, Directors O&M Makhdoom Babar and Sanwal Malik and others were also present in the meeting.
