FAISALABAD, Jan 06 (APP):Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Managing Director (MD) Saqib Raza has declared achievement of the monthly revenue recovery target mandatory and made it clear that no lethargy, negligence or delay in meeting recovery goals would be tolerated under any circumstances.
Presiding over a meeting of Revenue Directorates, he said that WASA has fixed a monthly revenue recovery target of Rs.425 million in its annual budget. It also made timely and full recovery essential to meet financial requirements and ensure uninterrupted service delivery, he added.
He categorically stated that revenue officers and staff must achieve the assigned budget targets in full and any recovery below the set benchmark would be unacceptable.
He directed the revenue wings to focus special attention on recovery from commercial consumers and said that assistance from the PERA Force should be sought in cases where commercial users refuse to clear their bills or outstanding dues.
He said that strict measures would be adopted to ensure compliance and discipline in revenue collection.
He further instructed that in the areas or subdivisions where sewerage or water supply issues were affecting revenue recovery, the Operations Directorate should be taken on board immediately to resolve such problems without delay.
This approach would ensure priority provision of drainage and water supply facilities to the citizens while simultaneously improving revenue recovery.
