FAISALABAD, Jan 19 (APP):Managing Director Water & Sanitation Agency (WASA) Saqib Raza on Monday said
that indiscriminate crackdown has been launched against illegal and defaulter private
housing colonies to detach their sewerage connections.
He said that WASA had disconnected illegal sewerage connections of two housing schemes
so far which were located on Jhang Road due to their failure for regularizing their utility
connections despite repeated requests.
He also directed WASA officials that sewerage and water supply connections of all private
housing colonies must be regularized in accordance with the law.
The Revenue Directorate had also issued demand notices to two private housing colonies
on Jhang Road for regularization but the dues were not deposited within the stipulated
time, he added.
He said that over non-compliance, the Revenue Directorate in coordination with the Operations
and Maintenance (O&M) Directorate conducted a joint operation against the defaulting colonies.
During operation, Sub-Engineer Ali Hassan along with other staff disconnected the illegal sewerage
connections of both private housing colonies and submitted a detailed report, he added
