WASA divided into 13 zones to ensure prompt service delivery

FAISALABAD, Dec 14 (APP):Water and Sanitation Agency (WASA) Faisalabad has divided its operational area into 13 zones on the initiative of Divisional Commissioner Raja Jahangir Anwar and assigned technical teams under the supervision of directors to ensure fast-track service delivery and effective redress of public complaints.
Managing Director WASA Saqib Raza said that each zone in-charge would be fully responsible for covering uncovered manholes, resolving sewerage issues and responding promptly to even minor complaints from the citizens. No negligence or delay would be tolerated in resolving public issues, he added.
He said that Zone-I People’s Colony would cover Peoples’ Colony No-1, Elahi Abad and Babar Chowk service centers while Zone-II Madina Town would deal with Madina Town-I and II, Zone-III Mansoorabad and Zone-IV Shamsabad would cover Shamsabad and Malikpur centers where Deputy Director Zain-ul-Abideen would serve as incharge under supervision of the director.
The MD further said that under the supervision of Deputy Director Nauman Noor, Zone-V would cover the service centers of Allama Iqbal Colony, Ahmed Nagar and Fowara Chowk while Zone-VI Chamra Mandi would deal with the service centers of Hide Market, Sitara Colony and Samanabad. Similarly, Zone-VII supervised by Deputy Director Furqan Haider would cover the service centers of Chohar Majra and Gulshan Colony in Ghulam Muhammad Abad.
He said that Zone-VIII would cover Gulberg and Jinnah Colony, Zone-IX Saif Abad would deal with the service centers of Saif Abad, Naimat Colony and Gulfishan Colony, Zone-X Hameed Park would cover Jhang Road and Jameel Park centers.
Under the supervision of Deputy Director Abdullah Nazir, Zone-XI Civil Lines would cover the service centers of Gulistan Colony, Shadman and Islam Nagar, Zone-XII Millat Town would deal with the service centers of Johar Colony while Zone-XIII Ismail Road would cover Noor Pur, Kanak Basti and Dar-ul-Ehsan, he added.
He said that WASA’s helpline 1334 remains operational round the clock to receive public complaints.
The zonal system would further improve efficiency, accountability and timely provision of municipal services to the citizens across Faisalabad, he added.
