Skilled workforce imperative for governance: Dr Zulfiqar

FAISALABAD, Jan 19 (APP):University of Agriculture Faisalabad (UAF) Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that a skilled and well-trained administrative workforce aligned with modern tools played a pivotal role in smooth governance, transparent decision-making and effective service delivery.
He was addressing the concluding session of a five-day national outreach training program for managerial and administrative staff arranged by the UAF in collaboration with National Academy of Higher Education, HEC.
Dr Zulfiqar Ali said that the UAF had implemented e-Filing system, ensuing electronically tracking of files, operational efficiency, cost sustainability, data security and merit-based governance.
He said that continuous capacity building equips staff with practical skills, strengthens institutional governance and enhances service delivery.
He said that a competent and well-trained administrative setup is backbone of a progressive university. By equipping staff with practical knowledge and modern administrative skills,” We are building a progressive and responsive university system”, he added.
Deputy Director Sadia Bukhari from National Academy of Higher Education said the HEC initiative of outreach training program at universities doorstep will enhance the skills of officials to work more efficiently.
Director Academics Dr Hafiza Shafia Tehseen Gull said that 30 university administrate staff were imparted training.
Director Research Dr Rao Zahid Abbas, Registrar Asif Kamran and Treasurer Zeeshan Ishfaq Bukhary, Director Graduate Studies Dr Khalid Bashir and Additional Director Academics Dr Rao Sabir Sattar also spoke.
 In the session, resource persons Dr Asif Ali Qaisar, Dr Muhammad Sarfraz, Dr Muhammad Afzal from Planning Commission, Dr Muhammad Shiraz and Dr Khurram Shehzad from Riphah gave training on professional communication and office procedures, personal and professional development, public sector project and financial governance, AI for workplace efficiency, strategic planning and policy development for institutional growth.
