FAISALABAD, Jan 09 (APP):Director Livestock Dr Haidar Ali Khan on Friday said that appropriate sites were selected at Chiniot for two major development projects for strengthening animal health and diagnostic services at the district level.
During a detailed visit to the office of Additional Director Livestock Chiniot and District Diagnostic Laboratory, he conducted a comprehensive inspection of all relevant offices, laboratories and existing facilities.
Additional Director Livestock Chiniot Dr Atta Subhani briefed the director about ongoing and proposed development initiatives in the district.
The inspection focused on evaluating current infrastructure and identifying areas requiring immediate up-gradation to meet growing veterinary healthcare needs.
The Director Livestock said that the locations were finalized for the establishment of district-level X-ray and surgical (operation) facilities for animal health and welfare, along with the up-gradation of diagnostic services.
These projects were expected to significantly improve the capacity for timely disease diagnosis, effective treatment and enhanced surveillance of livestock diseases across the district, he added.
Dr Haidar Ali Khan issued necessary directions to concerned officers to ensure timely initiation of the projects, stressing that strengthening veterinary infrastructure was essential for safeguarding livestock health and supporting farmers’ livelihoods.
He said the Livestock Department was continuously taking concrete steps under provincial policy to provide farmers with modern and quality veterinary facilities. The new initiatives would play a vital role in improving animal welfare and boosting the livestock sector, he added.
