Services’ exports up by 28.89% to $1.8 bln in 2 months

The export of various services witnessed 28.89 percent increase during the first two months of the current fiscal year as compared to the exports of corresponding period of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.

ISLAMABAD, Oct 5 (APP):The export of various services witnessed 28.89 percent increase during the first two months of the current fiscal year as compared to the exports of corresponding period of last year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
According to PBS data, Pakistan earned $1.881 billion from the export of services during July-August (2026-27) as compared to $1.405 billion in July-August 2025-26.
The services’ imports also witnessed an increase of 9.77 percent during the period under review and were recorded at $2.370 billion as compared to the imports of $2.159 billion in July-August 2025-26.
During the period under review, the services trade deficit contracted by 25.84 percent as it was recorded at $0.559 billion as against the $0.754 billion.
Meanwhile, on year-on-year basis, the export of services increased by 28.97 percent to $0.873 billion during the month of August 2026 as against the exports of $0.676 billion during August 2025.
The import of services increased by 2.53 percent to $1.155 billion as compared to $1.127 billion during last August.
On month-on-month basis, the services exports, however witnessed negative growth of 6.93 percent in August 2026 when compared to the exports of $0.938 billion in July 2026.
Likewise, the imports of services declined by 4.86 percent in August 2026  as compared to the imports of $1.214 billion in July 2026, the PBS reported.
