LAHORE, Jul 28 (APP): Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) here Monday organized a seminar on “Zero Carbon Emissions for Export Industries of Pakistan” to promote eco-friendly practices among local exporters and raise awareness about global environmental standards.
LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad presided over the seminar and stressed the need for industries to reduce their carbon footprint to remain competitive in international markets. He said that environmental sustainability is no longer an option but a requirement for accessing global trade opportunities. He stressed that Pakistan’s export industries must adopt green production methods, modern technology and move towards Green Certifications to meet international demands.
LCCI Senior Vice President Engineer Khalid Usman, Vice President Shahid Nazir, Former Senior Vice President Ali Hussam Asghar, Ms. Kanwal Parvez Chaudhry were present while Parliamentary Secretary, Department of Environment Protection & Climate Change, Punjab, was the chief guest. LCCI Executive Committee Member Amina Randhawa, Barrister Hassan Nawaz Sheikh, Dr. Nabeel Amin, Sohail Butt and Convener LCCI Standing Committee on Corporate Relations & Market Committee Malik Amir Salam also spoke on the occasion.
Speakers provided technical insights into zero carbon strategies and guided participants on practical measures to transition towards sustainable industrial practices.
LCCI President Mian Abuzar Shad thanked all guests, experts and participants and said that such seminars are part of LCCI’s continued efforts to support the business community through knowledge sharing and policy advocacy on critical global issues like climate change and sustainability.
