SECP Chairman welcomes MOBIZ expansion in Pakistan
ISLAMABAD, Aug 27 (APP): Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu, has emphasized that Pakistan’s economic competitiveness will increasingly depend on its ability to embrace digitalization, innovation and technology-led business models.
He said Pakistan, with its large and growing pool of young technology professionals, has the potential to emerge as an important regional hub for IT services, digital solutions and global technology delivery, said a press release issued by the SECP on Thursday.
Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu said the SECP is focused on developing a transparent, efficient and technology-enabled regulatory environment that supports enterprise, investment and innovation. The Commission is continuously simplifying and modernizing regulatory frameworks across the corporate sector, capital markets, insurance, non-bank financial services and corporate debt markets, while aligning them with international standards and emerging business needs.
He highlighted that digitalization remains central to this transformation, as technology can reduce the time and cost of doing business, improve transparency and compliance, facilitate investment, and enable businesses to scale more efficiently. The SECP’s objective is to make regulatory interaction increasingly digital, seamless and business-friendly while maintaining strong standards of governance and investor protection.
The SECP Chairman noted that Pakistan’s young population and expanding technology talent provide a strong foundation for this transformation. He emphasized that creating quality employment opportunities and connecting Pakistani professionals with global markets will be critical to converting the country’s demographic strength into sustainable economic growth.
In this context, Dr. Kabir Ahmed Sidhu welcomed MOBIZ’s expansion in Pakistan through its Karachi office at NASTP Silicon 1. He noted that MOBIZ, with more than 170 professionals across four continents and capabilities spanning cloud, data, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, represents the growing opportunities within Pakistan’s technology ecosystem.
