Seafood exports grew 27.81% in firs quarter of FY25

ISLAMABAD, Oct 17 (APP): Fish and fish preparations exports from the country during the first quarter of the current financial year grew by 27.81 per cent as compared to the exports of the corresponding period of the last year, according to the data of the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics.
During the period from July to September, 2025, over 40,534 metric tons of fish and fish products valued at $89.600 million were exported as compared to the exports of 33,144 metric tons worth of $70.106 million of the same period of the last year.
Meanwhile, the meat and meat preparations exports from the country during the period under review grew by 5.59 per cent as over 27,297 metric tons of above mentioned commodities worth $122.199 million were exported as compared to the exports of 27,286 metric tons valued at $115.730 million of the same period of the last year.
The food group exports from the country during first quarter of the current financial year decreased by 31.42 per cent as compared to the exports of the same period of the last year, the data revealed.
On the other hand, food group imports into the country during the first three months of the current financial year increased by 35.56 per cent as compared to the imports of the same period of the last year, it added.
The food commodities worth $2.252 billion were imported as compared to the imports of $1.661 billion of the same period of the last year.
