SCCI for organizing annual industrial fairs at district level

ISLAMABAD, Feb 26 (APP):The SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI), Senior Vice President Iftikhar Ali Malik Tuesday urged the local chambers and businessmen to organize annual industrial fairs at district levels to promote industrial production and attract local buyers.
According to SCCI press release issued here, he expressed these views while talking to media after inaugurating annual industrial fair at Gujrat, which was organized by Irfan Yousaf, former Zonal Chairman and Vice President FPCCI.
He said that the government, industries department and district administration should facilitate such fairs to promote local products and help produce export quality goods.He also demanded of setting up expo center at divisional level so that the businessmen could display their products to attract buyers.
Iftikhar Malik said the positive impact of Pakistan’s geographical location was now being fully realized through China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, which are being referred to as game changers for the regional and global economy.
“Against this backdrop, frequent organization of such fairs will augment prosperity of other sectors of the economy,” he added.
He also highlighted the significance of local brands and said it was high time for Pakistani entrepreneurs, corporate sector, especially younger business magnates, to focus on developing brands.
He said vertical integration and institutional network were to be strengthened on modern scientific lines to meet the future challenges of global marketing.
He said that private sector had to come forward to develop their own brands on war footings for their survival otherwise the neighbouring countries would continue to dominate international markets.
He said Pakistan was producing some of the best products in the world in sports, textile, fruits, vegetables, handicrafts and in several other sectors but not exporting them under its own brands.
Iftikhar Malik also urged the leadership of FPCCI and local chambers to resolve the issues of the business community on war footing basis and help them to introduce their products at national and international level.
He also appreciated Irfan Yousaf for organizing such a splendid exhibition at district level and hoped that he would continue holding such fairs in future too to strengthen the local economic activities.
