SBP injects Rs 3.26 trillion to maintain liquidity in the market

The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) injected Rs 3,258.55 billion on Friday through Reverse Repo Purchase and Shariah Compliant Mudarabah based Open Market Operations (OMO) for maintaining liquidity in the market. 

KARACHI, Oct 02 (APP): The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) injected Rs 3,258.55 billion on Friday through Reverse Repo Purchase and Shariah Compliant Mudarabah based Open Market Operations (OMO) for maintaining liquidity in the market.
The central bank conducted the Open Market Operation, Reverse Repo Purchase (Injection) for 7 and 14-day tenors on October 02, 2026, and injected Rs 2,715.05 billion against 22 quotes while other Rs 543.5 billion were injected through Shariah Compliant Mudarabah based OMO.
The central bank, for the Reverse Repo Purchase of 14-day tenor, received 17 bids cumulatively offering Rs 2,946.050 billion at the rate of return ranging between 11.51% to 11.56%. The SBP accepted Rs 2,475 billion against all the 17 quotes at 11.51% rate of return. The total amount offered at 11.51% was Rs 2,145 billion, out of which SBP accepted Rs 1,673.95 billion on a pro rata basis.
Moreover, the SBP also received 5 bids for the 7-day tenor, cumulatively offering Rs 240.050 billion at the rate of return ranging between 11.54% to 11.57%. The SBP accepted all the 5 quotes with the entire amount at 11.54% rate of return.
Meanwhile, SBP also conducted Shariah Compliant Mudarabah-based Open Market Operation for the 7 and 14-day tenors. The central bank, for the 7-day tenor, received one bid offering Rs 106 billion at 11.56% rate of return, which was accepted at the offered rate.
The central bank received 9 quotes for the 14-day tenor offering Rs 489 billion at rate of return ranging between 11.54% to 11.58%. SBP accepted an amount of Rs 437.5 billion against the 9 bids at 11.54% rate of return. The total amount offered at 11.54% was Rs 285 billion, out of which SBP accepted Rs 233.5 billion on a pro rata basis.
