SBP injects over Rs 2.64 trillion in the market

KARACHI, Sep 18 (APP):The State Bank of Pakistan (SBP), on Friday, injected Rs 2,640.45 billion through Reverse Repo Purchase and Shariah Compliant Mudarabah based Open Market Operations (OMO) for maintaining liquidity in the market.
The central bank conducted the Open Market Operation, Reverse Repo Purchase (Injection) for 7 and 14-day tenors on September 18, 2026, and injected Rs 2,305.45 billion against 17 bids while other Rs 335 billion were injected through Shariah Compliant Mudarabah based OMO.
The central bank received 15 bids for the Reverse Repo Purchase of 14-day tenor, cumulatively offering Rs 2,279.25 billion at the rate of return ranging between 11.51 to 11.56%. The SBP accepted Rs 2,000.95 billion against 12 quotes at 11.53% rate of return.
Moreover, the SBP also received 5 bids for the 7-day tenor, cumulatively offering Rs 304.5 billion at the rate of return ranging between 11.54% to 11.57%. The SBP accepted all the 5 quotes with the entire amount at 11.54% rate of return.
Meanwhile, SBP also conducted Shariah Compliant Mudarabah based Open Market Operation for the 7 and 14-day tenors. For the 7-day tenor, the central bank received one bid offering Rs 10 billion at 11.56% rate of return. SBP accepted the quote with the entire amount at the offered rate.
The central bank also received 5 quotes for the 14-day tenor offering Rs 344 billion at rate of return ranging between 11.53% to 11.57%. SBP accepted an amount of Rs 325 billion against the 5 bids at 11.53% rate of return. The total amount offered at 11.53% was Rs 292 billion, out of which SBP accepted Rs 272.5 billion on a pro rata basis.
