ISLAMABAD, May 14 (APP):Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Industries and Production Haroon Akhtar Khan on Thursday met with the CEO of Millat Tractors and discussed matters related to the upcoming federal budget, auto policy, tractor policy, and the promotion of local manufacturing.
During the meeting, Haroon Akhtar emphasized that the government is taking practical measures to strengthen local industry in line with the vision of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, said a news release.
He said that industrial development is being accelerated to support economic revival and sustainable economic growth.
The special assistant highlighted that the upcoming tractor policy is being designed to be both farmer-friendly and industry-friendly, with a focus on supporting the agricultural sector while enhancing domestic industrial capacity.
The auto policy will prioritize local production, investment, and technological advancement in Pakistan’s manufacturing sector, Haroon added.
He underlined that increasing exports is essential for economic stability and long-term national growth. He noted that the promotion of local manufacturing will create employment opportunities, attract investment, and contribute significantly to export growth.
The government is continuing reforms aimed at modernizing the industrial sector and improving competitiveness.
Reaffirming the government’s commitment, Haroon said that equal importance is being given to both the industrial and agricultural sectors to ensure balanced and inclusive economic development across the country.
