ISLAMABAD, Oct 28 (APP): Minister of State for Culture and National Heritage Huzaifa Rehman on Tuesday said revival of the old “Silk Route” will play a significant role in enhancing the trade and cultural relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan.
He said, “Uzbekistan and Pakistan trade and cultural relation deeply rooted in Centuries history and both sides of government are Committed increasing the bilateral ties according to its true potential.”
He expressed these views while addressing the seminar on “Pakistan –Uzbekistan, A Growing Milestone in History, Culture and Trade Through Media organized by Press Council of Pakistan and Tashkent Urdu here.
The minister said that both sides are working to promote cooperation in education, culture and also in other potential sectors of the economy.

While congratulating the completion of one year of Tashkent Urdu, he said that such initiatives provide an opportunity for the people of both countries to understand each other’s culture and language.
He said that understanding the language and culture is essential for strong relations with a nation, and the successful anniversary of Tashkent Urdu is an important milestone in this regard.
Deputy Head of Mission of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, Roshan Alimov said that historical, cultural and trade relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan are established on strong foundations.
He said there are close similarities in the cultures of the cities of Uzbekistan and the major cities of Pakistan like Karachi, Lahore and added that the media is playing an important role in promoting relations between the two countries.
Chairman Press Council of Pakistan Arshad Khan Jadoon said that the Press Council played its due role to further promote cooperation with Uzbekistan in the field of journalism.
He said that the relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan are centuries old and are based on religious, cultural and strong bilateral foundations.
CEO of Tashkent Urdu Muhammad Hassan said that Tashkent Urdu has highlighted the positive image of the two brotherly Islamic countries in the past one year.
“Our main objective is to promote cultural and economic relations between the two countries through the media.’’
President of Islamabad High Court Bar Association Syed Wajid Gilani said that Pakistan’s relations with Uzbekistan are on a strong foundation and the media is playing an important role in further strengthening these relations.
Member of Rehmatul-ul-Alameen Authority, Dr. Farooq Adil said that the family and cultural systems of Pakistan and Uzbekistan are similar to each other.
Muhammad Afzal, Pak-UK Business Forum, said that Pakistan and Uzbekistan have religio – Cultural commonalities and the two countries can have unprecedented cooperation in trade, culture and economy.
He said that media can be a bridge in this era of technology to further accelerate this cooperation.
