Pumpkin price jumps to Rs 400 per kg in Bahawalpur

BAHAWALPUR, Jul 20 (APP):Increase in prices of vegetables and poultry meat was witnessed once again in Bahawalpur as pumpkin vegetable was sold out at Rs 400 per kilogram here on Saturday.
APP learnt that record increase in prices of vegetables was noticed as pumpkin which was available at Rs 60 to 100 per kilogram in Bahawalpur during Eid-ul-Azha days, now it has got record surge in price as it was sold out at Rs 350 to 400 per kilogram here on Saturday.
“On Friday, we sold pumpkin vegetable out at over Rs 300 per kg, but today (Saturday), its price is Rs 400 per kg due to its higher price at wholesale market of fruits and vegetables,”a shopkeeper said.
Ladyfinger vegetable which was available at Rs 80 to 100 per kg few days back but on Saturday, it was sold out at Rs 240 per kg in vegetable markets. Cucumber that was sold out at Rs 50 to 60 per kg few days ago, now, it was available at Rs 120 per kg.
Tomato was available at Rs 20 to 40 per kg before falling of Eid-ul-Azha and even it was available at Rs 60 per kg on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, now its price has jumped to Rs 200 to 250 per kg in local market.
Poultry meat was sold out at Rs 490 per kilogram while it was sold out at Rs 370 per kg before falling of Moharram-ul-Haram.
