PSX witnesses bearish trend, loses over 339 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Monday, losing 339.60 points, a negative change of 0.20 percent, to close at 170,425.62 points against 170,765.22 points recorded in the previous trading session.

ISLAMABAD, Sep 28 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish trend on Monday, losing 339.60 points, a negative change of 0.20 percent, to close at 170,425.62 points against 170,765.22 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 421.016 million shares, compared to 482.759 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs17.736 billion from Rs19.284 billion.
Market capitalisation decreased to Rs18.962 trillion from Rs18.996 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 181 posted gains, 267 suffered losses, while 48 remained unchanged.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 61.591 million shares, followed by Tasdeeq Information with 60.322 million shares and Pak Refinery with 24.141 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited surged by Rs203.50 to close at Rs25,185.50, while Attock Refinery Limited advanced by Rs31.77 to settle at Rs1,177.12.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company LimitedB declined by Rs334.17 to close at Rs15,125.00, while Sapphire Textile Mills Limited fell by Rs57.47 to Rs1,560.65.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 129.321 million shares with a traded value of Rs6.592 billion, compared with 687.873 million shares worth Rs27.171 billion in the previous session.
Of the 295 companies traded in the DFC market, 98 advanced, 189 declined and eight remained unchanged.
