The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 1,332.47 points, a negative change of 0.78 percent, to close at 168,636.85 points against 169,969.33 points recorded in the previous trading session.
PSX witnesses bearish trend, loses over 1,332 points

ISLAMABAD, Oct 1 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 1,332.47 points, a negative change of 0.78 percent, to close at 168,636.85 points against 169,969.33 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 548.380 million shares, compared to 591.234 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value decreased to Rs 17.053 billion from Rs 20.191 billion.
Market capitalisation decreased to Rs 18.776 trillion from Rs 18.927 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 492 companies that traded in the ready market, 121 posted gains, 323 suffered losses, while 48 remained unchanged.
Kohinoor Spinning led the volume chart with 93.751 million shares, followed by F. Nat. Equities with 38.616 million shares and Cnergyico PK with 26.026 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Sapphire Textile Mills Limited surged by Rs 46.61 to close at Rs 1,567.66, while Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited advanced by Rs 38.40 to settle at Rs 8,841.00.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company Limited B declined by Rs 81.51 to close at Rs 15,181.00, while Nestle Pakistan Limited fell by Rs 48.20 to Rs 7,108.39.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 135.548 million shares with a traded value of Rs 5.408 billion, compared with 121.265 million shares worth Rs 5.495 billion in the previous session.
Of the 295 companies traded in the DFC market, 29 advanced, 265 declined and 1 remained unchanged.
