PSX turns bullish, gains over 1,646 points

ISLAMABAD, Sep 11 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) turned around to bullish trend on Friday, gaining 1,646.82 points, a positive change of 0.98 percent, to close at 170,511.86 points against 168,865.04 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 687.467 million shares, compared to 628.674 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value stood at Rs 33.705 billion, up from Rs 27.016 billion.
Market capitalisation increased to Rs 19.016 trillion from Rs 18.855 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 500 companies that traded in the ready market, 248 posted gains, 210 suffered losses, while 42 remained unchanged, reflecting an overall bullish trend in the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 104.274 million shares, followed by Pak Refinery with 66.012 million shares, and Media Times Ltd with 35.453 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited surged by Rs 298.77 to close at Rs 24,797.77, while PIA Holding Company LimitedB advanced by Rs 291.61 to settle at Rs 16,696.66.
On the losing side, Buxly Paints Limited fell by Rs 92.73 to close at Rs 834.59, while Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited declined by Rs 59.00 to Rs 9,091.00.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 188.682 million shares with a traded value of Rs 10.531 billion, compared with 175.546 million shares worth Rs 8.958 billion in the previous session.
Of the 299 companies traded in the DFC market, 173 advanced, 119 declined, and 7 remained unchanged.
