PSX turns bearish, sheds over 2,541 points

ISLAMABAD, Sep 14 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed bearish on Monday, losing 2,541.20 points, a negative change of 1.49 percent, to close at 167,970.66 points against 170,511.86 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 570.472 million shares, compared to 687.467 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value stood at Rs24.672 billion, down from Rs33.705 billion.
Market capitalisation decreased to Rs18.728 trillion from Rs19.016 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 492 companies that traded in the ready market, 83 posted gains, 373 suffered losses, while 36 remained unchanged, reflecting an overall bearish trend in the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 97.168 million shares, followed by Waves Home (R) with 72.902 million shares and Media Times Ltd with 52.841 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Pakistan Services Limited surged by Rs108.75 to close at Rs1,196.22, while Nestle Pakistan Limited gained Rs84.53 to settle at Rs7,508.75.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs688.55 to close at Rs24,109.22, while Buxly Paints Limited declined by Rs83.46 to Rs751.13.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 147.996 million shares with a traded value of Rs8.070 billion, compared with 188.682 million shares worth Rs10.531 billion in the previous session.
Of the 311 companies traded in the DFC market, 29 advanced, 280 declined, and two remained unchanged
