PSX stays bullish, gains over 830 points

ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a strong positive trend on Wednesday, gaining 830.43 points, a positive change of 0.48 percent, to close at 172,232.51 points against 171,402.08 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 773.593 million shares, compared to 641.834 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs26.453 billion from Rs18.466 billion.
Market capitalisation increased to Rs19.178 trillion from Rs19.093 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 262 posted gains, 196 suffered losses, while 38 remained unchanged.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 150.274 million shares, followed by WorldCall Telecom with 91.079 million shares and Tasdeeq Information with 58.641 million shares.
Among the top gainers, PIA Holding Company LimitedB surged by Rs259.28 to close at Rs15,932.33, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited advanced by Rs58.58 to settle at Rs1,871.26.
On the losing side, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs250.00 to close at Rs25,000.00, while Pakistan Services Limited declined by Rs70.82 to Rs1,151.42.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 456.574 million shares with a traded value of Rs20.360 billion, compared with 505.609 million shares worth Rs17.489 billion in the previous session.
Of the 319 companies traded in the DFC market, 233 advanced, 81 declined and 5 remained unchanged.
