PSX stays bullish, gains over 399 points

ISLAMABAD, Sep 4 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with bullish momentum on Friday, gaining 399.13 points, a positive change of 0.23 percent, to close at 175,328.82 points against 174,929.69 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed an increase in trading volume to 874.323 million shares, compared to 627.447 million shares traded in the previous session. Similarly, the overall traded value increased to Rs 32.417 billion from Rs 25.186 billion.
Market capitalization edged upwards to Rs 19.629 trillion, recovering from Rs 19.587 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 235 posted gains, 218 suffered losses, while 43 remained unchanged, reflecting a broad-based stabilization in market sentiment.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 149.299 million shares, followed by Tasdeeq Information with 132.413 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 78.718 million shares.
Among the top gainers in the ready market, Buxly Paints Limited surged by Rs 71.63 to close at Rs 989.14, while Premium Textile Mills Limited advanced by Rs 28.47 to settle at Rs 529.68.
On the losing side, The Thal Industries Corporation Limited suffered a sharp decline, shedding Rs 113.90 to close at Rs 1,025.10, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs 91.75 to Rs 25,557.25.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 216.619 million shares with a traded value of Rs 11.053 billion, up from 120.280 million shares worth Rs 7.448 billion in the previous session.
Of the 299 companies traded in the DFC market, 163 advanced, 126 declined, and 10 remained unchanged.
