PSX stays bearish, loses over 481 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) stayed bearish on Friday, losing 481.36 points, a negative change of 0.29 percent, to close at 168,155.49 points against 168,636.85 points recorded in the previous trading session. 

ISLAMABAD, Oct 02 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) stayed bearish on Friday, losing 481.36 points, a negative change of 0.29 percent, to close at 168,155.49 points against 168,636.85 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 493.957 million shares, compared to 548.381 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs17.491 billion from Rs17.054 billion.
Market capitalisation decreased to Rs18.726 trillion from Rs18.776 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 494 companies that traded in the ready market, 128 posted gains, 321 suffered losses, while 45 remained unchanged, reflecting a bearish trend in the market.
F. Nat.Equities led the volume chart with 42.509 million shares, followed by WorldCall Telecom with 40.081 million shares and D.S. Industries Limited with 29.510 million shares.
Among the top gainers, First Imrooz Modaraba surged by Rs28.69 to close at Rs315.63, while Ellcot Spinning Mills Limited advanced by Rs14.20 to settle at Rs210.48.
On the losing side, Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited declined by Rs118.11 to close at Rs8,722.89, while Nestle Pakistan Limited fell by Rs93.53 to Rs7,014.86.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 94.042 million shares with a traded value of Rs5.370 billion, compared with 135.548 million shares worth Rs5.408 billion in the previous session.
Of the 295 companies traded in the DFC market, 35 advanced, 256 declined and four remained unchanged.
