PSX stays bearish, loses 555 points

ISLAMABAD, Mar 13 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) continued with a bearish trend on Friday, losing 555.27 points, a negative change of 0.36 percent, closing at 153,866.17 points compared to 154,421.43 points on the previous trading day, according to PSX data.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 303.016 million shares with a traded value of Rs 14.690 billion, against 404.252 million shares valuing Rs 24.674 billion in the previous session. Market capitalization decreased to Rs 17.329 trillion from Rs 17.366 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 472 active companies in the ready market, 190 advanced, 205 declined, and 77 remained unchanged.
Dost Steels Limited topped the volume chart with 27.793 million shares, followed by Hascol Petroleum with 25.429 million shares and The Bank of Punjab with 16.327 million shares.
The top gainers included Blessed Textiles Limited, which rose by Rs 47.48 to close at Rs 522.27, and Pakistan Services Limited, which gained Rs 44.61 to settle at Rs 891.83.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company Limited declined by Rs 378.50 to close at Rs 16,646.00, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs 343.78 to close at Rs 24,656.22.
In the futures market, turnover stood at 71.751 million shares with a traded value of Rs 4.057 billion, compared to 73.162 million shares worth Rs 4.949 billion in the previous session. Out of 346 futures-market companies, 116 recorded gains, while 224 declined and six remained unchanged.
