The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 206.60 points, a negative change of 0.11 percent, to close at 180,104.61 points against 180,311.22 points recorded in the previous trading session.
PSX slips over 206 points amid selling pressure

ISLAMABAD, Aug 13 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 206.60 points, a negative change of 0.11 percent, to close at 180,104.61 points against 180,311.22 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 891.332 million shares, compared to 744.237 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs36.690 billion from Rs32.193 billion. Market capitalisation declined to Rs20.130 trillion from Rs20.177 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 495 companies that traded in the ready market, 197 posted gains, 269 suffered losses, while 29 remained unchanged, reflecting a negative trend across the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 247.072 million shares, followed by Beco Steel Limited with 103.802 million shares and Pak Refinery with 40.235 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Service Industries Limited surged by Rs81.79 to close at Rs2,176.50, while Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited advanced by Rs43.24 to settle at Rs9,318.17.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company LimitedB declined by Rs366.46 to close at Rs17,083.54, while Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited fell by Rs226.13 to Rs25,160.87.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 225.965 million shares with a traded value of Rs10.542 billion, compared with 126.621 million shares worth Rs7.332 billion in the previous session.
Of the 305 companies traded in the DFC market, 94 advanced, 209 declined and two remained unchanged.
