ISLAMABAD, Feb 13 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Friday witnessed a bearish trend, losing 908.92 points, a negative change of 0.50 percent, to close at 179,603.73 points compared to 180,512.65 points on the previous trading day, according to PSX data.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 708.968 million shares with a traded value of Rs 38.887 billion, against 873.996 million shares valuing Rs 41.766 billion in the previous session. Market capitalization declined to Rs 20.359 trillion from Rs 20.438 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 481 active companies in the ready market, 194 advanced, 231 declined, and 56 remained unchanged.
K-Electric Limited topped the volume chart with 131.137 million shares, followed by Pak Int. Bulk with 34.704 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 33.828 million shares.
The top gainers included PIA Holding Company LimitedB, which rose by Rs 834.70 to close at Rs 18,694.99, and Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited, which gained Rs 354.50 to settle at Rs 27,254.50.
On the losing side, Sapphire Textile Mills Limited declined by Rs 66.32 to close at Rs 1,303.68, while ZIL Limited fell by Rs 48.75 to close at Rs 505.48.
In the futures market, turnover stood at 163.081 million shares with a traded value of Rs 8.262 billion, compared to 198.316 million shares worth Rs 10.287 billion in the previous session.
Out of 328 futures-market companies, 114 recorded gains, while 209 declined and five remained unchanged.
