PSX sheds 47.93 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 47.93 points, a negative change of 0.03 percent, to close at 177,322.78 points against 177,370.71 points recorded in the previous trading session.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 27 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Thursday, losing 47.93 points, a negative change of 0.03 percent, to close at 177,322.78 points against 177,370.71 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 614.057 million shares, compared to 644.841 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased to Rs34.547 billion from Rs31.365 billion. Market capitalisation declined to Rs19.860 trillion from Rs19.892 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 191 posted gains, 279 suffered losses, while 26 remained unchanged, reflecting a bearish trend across the market.
F. Nat. Equities led the volume chart with 86.073 million shares, followed by Cnergyico PK with 49.231 million shares and Tasdeeq Information with 29.683 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited surged by Rs746.58 to close at Rs25,960.58, while Siemens (Pakistan) Engineering advanced by Rs43.19 to settle at Rs1,559.44.
On the losing side, PIA Holding Company LimitedB declined by Rs100.00 to close at Rs17,200.00, while Rafhan Maize Products Company Limited fell by Rs71.79 to Rs9,247.00.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 500.393 million shares with a traded value of Rs27.033 billion, compared with 472.400 million shares worth Rs27.235 billion in the previous session.
Of the 313 companies traded in the DFC market, 121 advanced, 189 declined and three remained unchanged.
