ISLAMABAD, Oct 27 (APP):The 100-index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a bearish trend on Monday, losing 1,140.32 points, a negative change of 0.70 percent, closing at 162,163.81 points against 163,304.13 points on the previous trading day.
A total of 479 companies transacted their shares in the stock market; 157 recorded gains, 277 sustained losses, while 45 remained unchanged.
The overall trading volume in the ready market stood at 1,006.69 million shares compared to 1,041.17 million shares on the prior day, whereas the traded value dropped to Rs34.82 billion from Rs35.01 billion. Market capitalization declined to Rs18.70 trillion from Rs18.81 trillion.
WorldCall Telecom led the volume chart with 164.29 million shares, followed by K-Electric Ltd. with 123.42 million shares and the Bank of Punjab with 61.77 million shares.
Among the top gainers, PIA Holding Company LimitedB gained Rs330.53 per share to close at Rs24,543.94, while Ismail Industries Limited rose by Rs90.52 to settle at Rs2,090.54.
On the other hand, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited witnessed a decrease of Rs291.76, closing at Rs29,400.00, whereas Nestle Pakistan Limited declined by Rs62.46 to close at Rs8,051.11.
In the futures market, 328 companies participated, with 88 advancing and 240 declining.
WorldCall Telecom (OCT) topped futures trading with 38.53 million shares, followed by the Bank of Punjab (OCTB) with 34.83 million shares and Bank of Punjab (NOV) with 29.22 million shares.
