The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a robust recovery on Tuesday, gaining 2,592.79 points, a positive change of 1.56 percent, to close at 168,460.11 points against 165,867.32 points recorded in the previous trading session.
PSX rebounds as KSE-100 Index gains over 2,592 points

ISLAMABAD, Oct 6 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a robust recovery on Tuesday, gaining 2,592.79 points, a positive change of 1.56 percent, to close at 168,460.11 points against 165,867.32 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 432.015 million shares, compared to 441.898 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value increased significantly to Rs 20.139 billion from Rs 15.709 billion.
Market capitalisation increased to Rs 18.712 trillion from Rs 18.464 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 496 companies that traded in the ready market, 314 posted gains, 147 suffered losses, while 35 remained unchanged, reflecting a strong bullish momentum in the market.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 55.062 million shares, followed by Pak Refinery with 28.175 million shares and WorldCall Telecom with 25.445 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited surged by Rs 223.98 to close at Rs 25,239.98, while PIA Holding Company LimitedB advanced by Rs 177.50 to settle at Rs 15,177.50.
On the losing side, S.S.Oil Mills Limited declined by Rs 47.68 to close at Rs 430.58, while Hoechst Pakistan Limited fell by Rs 46.81 to Rs 3,923.29.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 125.121 million shares with a traded value of Rs 7.168 billion, compared with 91.217 million shares worth Rs 4.552 billion in the previous session.
Of the 296 companies traded in the DFC market, 252 advanced, 44 declined and zero remained unchanged.
