PSX posts modest gains, adds nearly 125 points

The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a positive trend on Monday, gaining 124.95 points, a positive change of 0.07 percent, to close at 175,927.74 points against 175,802.79 points recorded on the previous trading day. 

ISLAMABAD, Jul 20 (APP): The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) witnessed a positive trend on Monday, gaining 124.95 points, a positive change of 0.07 percent, to close at 175,927.74 points against 175,802.79 points recorded on the previous trading day.
During the session, the ready market recorded a trading volume of 675.921 million shares with a traded value of Rs30.267 billion, compared to 621.024 million shares valuing Rs29.884 billion in the previous session. The market capitalization stood at Rs19.763 trillion, down from Rs19.790 trillion a day earlier.
Out of 492 active companies in the ready market, 165 advanced, 277 declined, and 50 remained unchanged.
Cnergyico PK led the volume chart with 166.060 million shares, followed by Pak Refinery with 49.159 million shares and TPL Properties with 38.437 million shares.
The top gainers included Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited, which surged by Rs211.00 to close at Rs25,440.00, and Baba Farid Sugar Mills Limited, which gained Rs41.86 to settle at Rs460.42.
On the losing side, Khairpur Sugar Mills Limited declined by Rs187.15 to close at Rs1,684.32, while Khyber Textile Mills Limited fell by Rs128.16 to settle at Rs2,071.22.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 161.308 million shares with a traded value of Rs7.945 billion, compared to 154.248 million shares worth Rs7.010 billion in the previous session.
Out of 305 futures-market companies, 135 advanced, 164 declined, and 6 remained unchanged.
