PSX jumps over 2,105 points

ISLAMABAD, Aug 3 (APP):The benchmark KSE-100 Index of the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) staged a massive rally on Monday, gaining 2,105.91 points, a positive change of 1.20 percent, to close at 178,200.02 points against 176,094.12 points recorded in the previous trading session.
The ready market witnessed a trading volume of 785.361 million shares, compared to 880.951 million shares traded in the previous session, while the traded value surged to Rs33.140 billion from Rs24.957 billion.
Market capitalisation increased to Rs19.953 trillion from Rs19.755 trillion recorded a day earlier.
Out of 493 companies that traded in the ready market, 305 posted gains, 152 suffered losses, while 36 remained unchanged, reflecting a highly bullish trend across the bourse.
Trust Brokerage led the volume chart with 113.317 million shares, followed by TPL Properties with 83.708 million shares and Cnergyico PK with 68.958 million shares.
Among the top gainers, Khyber Textile Mills Limited surged by Rs154.38 to close at Rs2,157.19, while The Thal Industries Corporation Limited advanced by Rs98.44 to settle at Rs1,249.90.
On the losing side, Nestle Pakistan Limited declined by Rs142.13 to close at Rs7,771.24, while PIA Holding Company LimitedB fell by Rs65.48 to Rs17,562.02.
In the futures (DFC) market, turnover stood at 186.577 million shares with a traded value of Rs9.851 billion, compared with 582.374 million shares worth Rs24.919 billion in the previous session.
Of the 315 companies traded in the futures market, 293 advanced, 18 declined, and 4 remained unchanged.
