ISLAMABAD, Aug 27 (APP):The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s (PSX) benchmark KSE-100 Index continued with bearish trend on Wednesday, losing 941.03 points, a negative change of 0.63 percent, closing at 147,494.03 points against 148,435.06 points last trading day.
A total of 856,664,471 shares were traded during the day as compared to 665,420,243 shares the previous trading day, whereas the price of shares stood at Rs 29.286 billion against Rs 31.543 billion on the last trading day.
As many as 477 companies transacted their shares in the stock market, 129 of them recorded gains and 312 sustained losses, whereas the share price of 36 companies remained unchanged.
The three top trading companies were Pace (Pak) Limited with 87,764,239 shares at Rs 7.06 per share, Bank Makramah with 58,852,612 shares at Rs5.29 per share and TPL Properties with 42,675,243 shares at Rs 10.69 per share.
Unilever Pakistan Foods Limited witnessed a maximum increase of Rs 1,982.42 per share price, closing at Rs 32,320.00, whereas the runner-up was PIA Holding Company LimitedB with Rs449.23 rise in its per share price to Rs27,000.00.
Rafhan Maize Products Limited witnessed a maximum decrease of Rs92.36 per share closing at Rs 9,537.63 followed by Hoechst Pakistan Limited with Rs91.19 decline in its share price to close at Rs3,715.97.
Meanwhile, in the future market, as many as 326 companies traded shares in the market out of which 88 witnessed gain, 233 loss where the prices of 5 companies remained unchanged.
