PSO honours dealer network as cornerstone of Pakistan’s energy security

Pakistan State Oil (PSO) hosted the PSO Excellence Awards 2026 to recognise its top-performing dealer partners and reaffirm their role in ensuring uninterrupted fuel supplies across the country.

KARACHI, Aug 31 (APP): Pakistan State Oil (PSO) hosted the PSO Excellence Awards 2026 to recognise its top-performing dealer partners and reaffirm their role in ensuring uninterrupted fuel supplies across the country.
The ceremony was attended by PSO Chief Executive Officer Jawwad Ahmed Cheema, Chief Commercial Officer Amir Zaib Khan, senior management, dealer partners and employees, said a news release issued here on Monday.
Addressing the event, Jawwad Ahmed Cheema said PSO, as the country’s national oil company, had a responsibility to ensure fuel availability across Pakistan, particularly during periods of high demand, supply constraints and challenging conditions.
“Our dealers are the cornerstone of Pakistan’s energy security,” he said, adding that PSO’s commitment to keeping the country fuelled was delivered at more than 3,600 retail outlets through its dealer network.
The CEO said the fuel retail market was changing rapidly, with new entrants, formats and evolving customer expectations. He said PSO intended to regain lost market share through improved sites, service, standards and technology.
He stressed the importance of accurate fuel volumes, uncompromised quality and safety standards, clean forecourts and trained staff to ensure a consistent customer experience.
Mr Cheema said the awards were not merely a recognition of commercial performance but also reflected the partnership between PSO and its dealers. He thanked dealers for maintaining service standards and keeping the country’s transport and economic activity moving, often under challenging circumstances.
Awards were presented to top-performing dealers from across the country for commercial achievements, operational excellence, health, safety and environment (HSE) standards, customer service and adoption of best practices. Members of PSO’s commercial team were also recognised for their contributions to strengthening the retail network and supporting dealer performance.
The company said its retail business was entering an ambitious phase of transformation, including new site development, modernisation and rebranding of existing outlets, automation, tank-gauging, digital and loyalty initiatives and an enhanced non-fuel retail offering.
PSO said its retail strategy focused on network growth, operational and HSE excellence, customer service, digitalisation and greater value for customers, with the dealer network serving as a key partner in implementing the strategy.
The dealer partners reaffirmed their commitment to PSO and pledged continued cooperation in improving service standards, operational discipline and adoption of leading retail practices across the network.
The company said the initiative aimed to strengthen its position as Pakistan’s largest and most trusted energy retail network while supporting the country’s energy security needs.
