LAHORE, Jul 02 (APP): Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has achieved a historic milestone by collecting Rs 368 billion in taxes during the fiscal year 2025–26, exceeding its revenue target and recording the highest annual tax collection since its establishment.
PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra said here Thursday that tax collection increased by Rs 98 billion compared to the previous fiscal year, rising from Rs 270 billion in 2024–25 to over Rs 368 billion, reflecting an impressive 36 percent growth rate. The authority also concluded the fiscal year on a strong note by collecting more than Rs 48.5 billion in June alone. PRA collected Rs 361 billion under Punjab Sales Tax on Services. The tax base was expanded by 18 percent with the addition of 26,700 new taxpayers.
The PRA Chairman described the achievement as the highest tax collection in the authority’s history. He said the PRA delivered exceptional performance despite challenges including regional tensions and reduced business hours. He credited the success to the unwavering support of Punjab government, the leadership of the Chief Minister, and the confidence of taxpayers.
The Chairman noted that provincial government has set a revenue target of Rs 528 billion for the fiscal year 2026–27. He reaffirmed the PRA’s commitment to broadening the tax base, promoting voluntary tax compliance, and accelerating digital reforms across the province.
