LAHORE, Mar 04 (APP):The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) has achieved a record tax collection during the month of February, registering an unprecedented 75 percent growth rate, the highest ever in the Authority’s history for the month.
During February of the current fiscal year, PRA collected over Rs. 41 billion in tax revenue, compared to Rs. 23.6 billion collected in February last year, reflecting a significant increase in provincial tax revenues.
This was highlighted during a meeting chaired by PRA Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra here Wednesday, where officers from across the province participated through video link.
The Chairman appreciated the officers for their outstanding performance and encouraged them to continue their efforts to further strengthen revenue collection.
The positive results are a direct outcome of the reform initiatives introduced under the vision of Punjab Chief Minister. The implementation of modern reforms and a transparent tax collection system has significantly contributed to the increase in tax revenues, he remarked.
He said that growth in provincial revenues plays a vital role in ensuring financial stability and enables the government to complete development and public welfare projects across the province in a timely manner.
