LAHORE, Aug 06 (APP): Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) Chairman Moazzam Iqbal Sipra Thursday held a meeting with a delegation of Dry Cleaners Association to discuss taxation matters and issues being faced by the dry-cleaning industry.
The delegation, comprising representatives from different cities of Punjab, apprised the Chairman of various tax-related and business concerns and presented proposals aimed at facilitating the sector and improving tax compliance.
Speaking on the occasion, the PRA Chairman emphasized that encouraging registered taxpayers and expanding the provincial tax net remain key priorities of the Authority.
He stated that cooperation of the business community is essential to making the tax system more transparent, simplified, and business-friendly. He observed that regular engagement between the business community and PRA would help remove misunderstandings, address genuine concerns, and strengthen mutual trust. He also stressed that the misappropriation of taxes collected from the public causes a direct loss to the national exchequer.
The delegation assured the Chairman of its full cooperation with the Punjab Revenue Authority and pledged to facilitate the registration of unregistered businesses operating in the dry-cleaning sector.
The representatives thanked the Chairman for taking a keen interest in resolving the industry’s concerns and appreciated the constructive consultation aimed at promoting a fair and facilitative tax environment across Punjab.
