ISLAMABAD, Apr 26 (APP):Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal (PBM) has spent a sum of Rs 2,429 million to provide relief to the deserving under various programmes from July 2017 to February 2018, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Finance Miftah Ismael said.
Announcing Economic Survey 2017-18, he said the amount had been distributed through the poorest of the poor focused programme, providing assistance to the destitute, widows, orphans and other needy persons, and other programmes.
Miftah said Rs 1,453 million was disbursed among the deserving through Individual Financial Assistance programme and Rs 64 million under the PBM Special Friends’ Programme. Similarly, Rs 71 million cash subsidy was disbursed by the PBM under Child Support Programme and Rs 369 million under the School for Rehabilitation of Child programme, he added.
He said Rs 17 million was disbursed by PBM among non-governmental organisations under Institutional Rehabilitation for NGOs.
