LAHORE, Mar 04 (APP):In a major leap towards tech-driven governance, the Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT) has joined hands with Canada’s Axiom Exploration Group to bring the power of space technology to empower Punjab with a “digital twin” of its landscape.
To formalise collaboration, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed by PBIT Chairman Muhammad Muntaha Ashraf and the President & CEO of Axiom Group, Mr. Dough Engdhal in Toronto, according to PBIT spokesman here Wednesday.
This signing marks a pivotal step toward embedding advanced innovation within Punjab’s public sector framework. The ceremony was graced by High Commissioner of Pakistan in Canada, Muhammad Saleem, Trade and Investment Counselor, Altamash Janjua, along with other distinguished officials.
The agreement, formalized at Prospectors & Developers Association of Canada (PDAC) 2026 in Toronto, will harness cutting-edge remote sensing and geospatial analytics to reshape how the province plans, manages resources, and builds a sustainable future.
The partnership between Punjab and Axiom Group will focus on creating actionable intelligence from space-derived data, ensuring that Punjab’s growth is not only rapid but also sustainable and resilient. It reflects the province’s proactive stance on fostering international partnerships that directly strengthen its technological ecosystem and institutional capabilities
