Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves cross $ 22 billion, SBP holds 16.53 b

The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan rose to US$ 22,044.6 million as of June 24, 2026 while reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan increased to $ 16,527.2 million. 

KARACHI, Jul 02 (APP): The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan rose to US$ 22,044.6 million as of June 24, 2026 while reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan increased to $ 16,527.2 million.
“During the week ended on 24-Jun-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 611 million to US$ 16,527.2 million. The increase in SBP’s reserves is mainly due to GoP inflows from multilateral institutions,” the central bank reported on Thursday in its weekly statement on the position of liquid foreign reserves.
However, the net foreign reserves held by commercial banks decreased by $ 51 million during the period under review to $ 5,517.4 million, the break up of forex reserves showed.
Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves in the previous week ended on June 19, 2026 were $ 21,484.7 million. Among them the State Bank of Pakistan held foreign exchange reserves of $ 15,916.4 million while the other $ 5,568.3 million were held by the commercial banks.
