Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves cross $ 22.5 billion

The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan rose to US$ 22,506.1 million as reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased to US$ 17,081.9 million. 

KARACHI, Aug 20 (APP): The total liquid foreign reserves of Pakistan rose to US$ 22,506.1 million as reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) increased to US$ 17,081.9 million.
“During the week ended on 13-Aug-2026, SBP’s FX reserves increased by US$ 25 million to US$ 17,081.9 million,” the central bank reported on Thursday in its weekly statement on the position of liquid foreign reserves.
However, the net foreign reserves held by commercial banks decreased by $ 17 million to $ 5,424.2 million, as shown in the break up of forex reserves for the period under review.
Pakistan’s total liquid foreign reserves in the previous week ended on August 07, 2026 stood $ 22,498.3 million. Among them the State Bank of Pakistan held foreign exchange reserves of $ 17,057 million while the other $ 5,441.3 million were held by the commercial banks.
