Pakistan receives $2.5 billion in FDI in last fiscal year 2024-25: Investment Minister

ISLAMABAD, Nov 4 (APP): Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh on Tuesday said that Pakistan received $2.5 billion in foreign direct investment last fiscal year 2024-25.
The Minister said that Pakistan will have to increase exports of value-added products and value-added exports will help reduce poverty in the country, Federal Minister for Investment, Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh said this while addressing the SDPI’s Twenty-eighth Sustainable Development Conference (SDC) here.
The government has put the country on the path of economic stability and Pakistan needs to increase Industrial productivity for sustainable economic elopement, he said.
The government is trying to increase foreign direct investment, and mutual trust in the country can play a significant role in economic development, Qaiser said.
He said that Pakistan should learn from China’s development and comprehensive planning plays a major role in China’s development.
Pakistan’s image has increased globally after the war with India, he said.
The Minister said that the Planning Commission can prepare a plan for Pakistan’s sustainable development.
He said that employment opportunities can be increased through technology and value-added exports for sustainability in the country’s economy.
