Pakistan exports goods worth Rs5.1 trillion in seven months

ISLAMABAD, Feb 19 (APP):Pakistan exported goods worth Rs.5,120,943 million during the first seven months of the current fiscal year, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
The exports in rupee term showed a decline of 6 percent during July-January (2025-26) when compared to the exports of Rs.5,447,859million during the corresponding period of last year, according to PBS provisional figures.
On year on year basis, the exports the exports in January 2026 increased by 4.03 percent to Rs.855,525million against Rs.822,410 million recorded in January 2024.
Likewise, the exports increased by 34.57 percent during January 2026 when compared to the exports of Rs.635,746million in December, 2025
The ,ain commodities of exports during January,2026 were readymade garments (Rs.121,818 million), knitwear (Rs. 119,897 million), bed wear (Rs. 86,381million),basmati rice (Rs.55,840 million),rice others (Rs.46,620 million),cotton cloth (Rs. 46,219 million),towels (Rs. 32,569 million),madeup Articles, excluding towels & bedwears) (Rs. 22,674),cotton yarn (Rs.20,574 million) and petroleum products, excluding naphta Rs.18,822 million).
On the other hand, imports during July–January (2025 – 2026) totaled Rs.11,345,029million as againstRs.10,230,768million during the corresponding period of last year, showing an increase of 10.89%.
Imports into Pakistan during January,2026 amounted to Rs.1,629,640 million as against Rs. 1,707,035 million in December, 2025and Rs.1,635,355million during January, 2025 showing a decrease of 4.53% over December, 2025and of 0.35% over January,2025.
The main commodities of imports during January,2026 were petroleum crude (Rs.109,678 million), palm oil(Rs.102,871million), petroleum products (Rs.85,740 million),plastic materials (Rs.76,775 million), iron & steel (Rs.74,944 million), natural gas liquified (Rs.74,841 million), electrical machinery & apparatus (Rs.59,963 million), Iron & steel scrap (Rs.56,188 million), mobile phones (Rs.50,287 million) and motor cars(ckd/skd) (Rs.45,498 million).
