ISLAMABAD, Jan 20 (APP):The exports from the country in rupee term reached to Rs4,265,642 million during the first quarter (July-December) of the current fiscal year (2025-26), Pakistan Bureau of Statistics(PBS) reported.
According to the provisional figures released by the bureau, the exports show 7.78 percent decrease during the period under review when compared to the exports of Rs.4,625,449 million during the corresponding period of last year.
On year-on-year (YoY) basis, the exports decreased by 21.44 percent in December 2025 to Rs.635,970 million from Rs. 809,554 million during last December. Likewise, on month-on-month (MoM) basis, the exports decreased by 6.41 percent in December 2025 when compared to the exports of Rs. 679,556 million in November, 2025.
The main commodities of exports during December, 2025 were knitwear (Rs. 104,270 million), readymade garments (Rs.100,179 million), bed wear (Rs. 62,076 million), rice others (Rs.37,296 million), cotton cloth (Rs. 31,150 million), towels (Rs. 21,833 million), madeup Articles, excluding towels & bedwears, (Rs. 15,818), cotton yarn (Rs.15,276 million), petroleum products, excluding top naphta (Rs.15,048 million) and meat & meat preparation (Rs. 13,686 million).
One the other hand, imports during July–December, 2025 (FY2025-26) totaled Rs. 9,723,337 million as against Rs. 8,595,413 million during the corresponding period of last year showing an increase of 13.12%.
Imports into Pakistan during December, 2025 amounted to Rs. 1,714,983 million (provisional) as against Rs. 1,491,677 million in November, 2025 and Rs. 1,642,039 million during December, 2024 showing an increase of 14.97% over November, 2025 and of 4.44% over December, 2024.
The main commodities of imports during December, 2025 were petroleum products (Rs.179,645 million), petroleum crude (Rs.151,111 million), palm oil (Rs. 85,881 million), natural gas liquified (LNG) (Rs.77,529 million), plastic materials (Rs.73,657 million), iron & steel (Rs.61,022 million), iron & steel scrap (Rs.55,075 million), motor cars, ckd/skd (Rs.49,670 million), electrical machinery & apparatus (Rs.45,832 million) and mobile phones (Rs.44,729 million).
