Pakistan earns $78.686m by exporting transport services in July 2025

ISLAMABAD, Oct 8 (APP):Pakistan earned US $78.686 million by providing different transport services in various countries during the first months of the current financial year (2025-26) as compared to the corresponding month of last year.
This shows an increase of 21.62 percent as compared to $64.697 million earned through the provision of services during the corresponding month of the financial year (2024-25), the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS) reported.
During the month under review, the exports of sea transport services went up by 10.03 percent, going up from $9.387 million during July last year to $10.328 million during the month under review.
Among the sea transport services, the exports of freight services dipped by 1.55 percent from $8.365 million last year to $8.235 million whereas the exports of other sea transport services, however, increased by 104.83 percent from $1.021 million to $2.093 million current year, the PBS data revealed.
The exports of air transport services surged by 30.91 percent going up from $49.872 million last year to $65.287 million during July 2025-26.
Among the air transport services, the exports of passenger services increased by 2.02 percent, from $34.666 million to $35.367 million, whereas the exports of freight services surged by 13.09 percent, from $ 2.768 million to $ 3.131 million, in addition, the export of other air transport services also increased by 115.38 percent from $12.438 million to $26.789 million.
Meanwhile, the exports of road transport services during the month under review witnessed a nominal growth of 1.91 percent surging from $2.413 million to $2.459 million during this year, it added.
Among the road transport services, the exports of freight services witnessed a decrease of 48.40 percent from $0.542 million to $0.279 million, while the export of other road services increased by 16.49 percent from $1.871 million to $2.871 million.
The export of postal and courier services dipped by 79.84 percent, from $3.023 million to $0.609 million, the data revealed.
