ISLAMABAD, Nov 25 (APP): Belarusian Minister for Energy, Alexey Kushnarenko on Monday expressed hope that Pakistan-Belarus Business Forum will prove to be a milestone in increasing bilateral economic and trade relations between the two countries.
He was addressing the Pakistan- Belarus Business Forum, organized by the Federal Ministry of Commerce here.
He said in January-September 2024, turnover with Pakistan amounted to about USD 34.1 million this is also facilitated by support and agreements at the intergovernmental level, aimed at the activation of business contacts, including the resolution of issues of visa liberalization, optimization of logistics routes for the delivery of goods, development of settlement mechanisms for trade transactions, decisions made on the distribution of national standards for product certification.
Alexey Kushnarenko said: “I am sure that the result of the work of the Forum will be a number of new joint projects in the sphere of trade, industrial production, agriculture, healthcare, education and other promising areas.”
He said the exchange of opinions and proposals between its participants will contribute to the significant expansion of bilateral and multilateral cooperation, will allow us to coordinate mutual steps for the development of cooperation.
As a wish, he said: “I would like to suggest to the organizers to pay more attention to the development of such areas that contribute to the intensification of bilateral relations, such as the creation of joint ventures, the development of dealer networks, and more active promotion of the main domestic brands in the markets of our countries.”
He said that it also appears that the issues of expanding the supply of special and utility equipment, goods of light industry, joint implementation of infrastructure projects could become very relevant.
Belarusian minister paid gratitude to the organizers for the invitation to participate in the opening of such a significant event for the development and activation of the Belarusian-Pakistani mutually beneficial cooperation event and welcome all its participants.
He said that opening the next Pakistan Belarus business forum today, we can confidently state that events of this format are an effective platform for direct dialogue between the business circles of Belarus and Pakistan.
He said that good commercial prospects are opening up in the field of industrial cooperation, agriculture, transport, pharmaceuticals, education, science, and tourism.
Belarusian agricultural machinery, industrial, petrochemical, and dairy products are in demand in the Pakistani market, he said and added that in Belarus, light industrial goods and food products supplied from Pakistan are in demand.
At the same time, the existing cooperation potential allows us to set and successfully solve more ambitious tasks to bring foreign economic, trade and humanitarian cooperation between our countries to a qualitatively new level, he said.
