ISLAMABAD, Apr 26 (APP):Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) has planned to generate 8,800 MW electricity through nuclear power plants by year 2030.
According to the Economic Survey of Pakistan released by Advisor to the Prime Minister Miftah Ismail here Thursday, construction of K-2/K-3 is the first major step in this regard and the PAEC is planning to develop additional sites to house more nuclear power plants in future with the sites identified throughout the Household Commercial Industry.
KANUPP, the oldest of the nuclear power plants, has now completed 46 years of safe and successful operation. C-4 was formally inaugurated by the Prime Minister on September 8th, 2017.
Two more nuclear power plants at Karachi, Karachi Nuclear power plants units (K-2 and K-3) are also under construction.
All operating units at Chashma are amongst the best performers in the country in terms of endurance and availability.
