ISLAMABAD, Oct 26 (APP):Federal Minister for Economic Affairs, Sardar Ayaz Sadiq on Wednesday urged the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) to increase support for reconstruction and rehabilitation works in the country.
The Minister virtually attended the 7th Annual Meeting of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB), said a press release issued here.
The Minister acknowledged AIIB’s support for Pakistan and congratulated AIIB on hosting the event.
He mentioned the devastation caused by the recent floods in Pakistan adding that Pakistan is one of the most vulnerable countries to the impacts of climate change, despite contributing less than 1 % to global greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
In order to build back better future, the Minister encouraged AIIB to build on its competitive advantage, and play a pivotal role in financing investment in the recovery and the further development of sustainable infrastructure as an asset class.
