Meat and meat preparations exports from the country increased by 16.20 percent in value during the first month of the current financial year, reaching $47.001 million in July 2026 compared with $40.449 million in the corresponding month of last year.

ISLAMABAD, Aug 21 (APP): Meat and meat preparations exports from the country increased by 16.20 percent in value during the first month of the current financial year, reaching $47.001 million in July 2026 compared with $40.449 million in the corresponding month of last year.
The country exported 8,983 metric tons of meat and meat preparations during July 2026, compared with 9,141 metric tons in the same month of the previous year, according to data released by the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics (PBS).
Meanwhile, fish and fish preparations exports also recorded a marginal increase in value. The country earned $22.544 million from the export of 11,568 metric tons during July 2026, compared with $22.447 million from 11,738 metric tons in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Rice exports registered a significant increase of 19.15 percent during the month. The country exported 346,024 metric tons of rice worth $199.950 million, compared with 293,166 metric tons valued at $167.183 million in July 2025.
Tobacco exports witnessed substantial growth of 72.55 percent, with 2,334 metric tons valued at $6.861 million exported in July 2026, compared with 1,292 metric tons worth $3.976 million in the corresponding month of the previous year.
Spices exports increased by 9.95 percent to 2,905 metric tons valued at $7.426 million during the month, whereas the exports of oilseeds and nuts surged by 493.70 percent to $24.898 million during July 2026.
Its worth mentioning here that the food group exports increased by 2.47 percent during the month under review, with total exports rising to $437.078 million in July 2026 from $426.555 million in July 2025.
On the other hand the food group imports into the country during the first month of the current financial year were recorded at $805.447 million was compared to the imports of $744.974 million of the same month of the last year.
