FAISALABAD, Aug 08 (APP): President Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI) Farooq Yousaf Sheikh has welcomed the Makkah Accord and described it as an important development that could not only strengthen the strategic ties among Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia but also create new avenues for trade, investment and business cooperation across the region.
In a statement here on Saturday, he said that Pakistan and Türkiye had the distinct honor of protecting the holy places. The Makkah accord carried significance well beyond its apparent defense dimension, he added.
He said that although the agreement appeared primarily defense-oriented, yet its broader implications could pave way for expanded commercial and economic cooperation among the three countries.
He stressed that the business community particularly entrepreneurs and exporters in Faisalabad should start preparing now to benefit from the emerging opportunities.
He said that great economic interaction among Pakistan, Türkiye and Saudi Arabia could open new markets for Pakistani products, encourage investment and facilitate business-to-business linkages.
Stability in the region would be instrumental in ushering in a new era of development, investment and prosperity, he added.
He expressed hope that other regional countries would gradually join the framework, transforming it into a broader platform for regional cooperation and collective security.
Such expansion could help establish durable peace and stability while simultaneously strengthening economic integration among the countries of this region, he added.
