LCCI, UBL sign MoU to promote digital payments

LAHORE, Jan 09 (APP):Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI) and United Bank Limited (UBL) Friday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote digital payments and ensure safe, fast and efficient financial transactions for LCCI members.
The MoU was signed by LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol and UBL Cluster Head Digital Banking Group Amman Uel Channa. UBL Group Head Muhammad Amir Sheikh was also present at the ceremony.
Under the agreement, UBL will provide digital payment and QR-based transaction facilities to LCCI. This will help LCCI members adopt modern, cashless payment systems and improve transparency, convenience and efficiency in business transactions.
Speaking on the occasion, LCCI President Faheem Ur Rehman Saigol said that digital banking and fintech solutions are essential for the growth of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and for documenting the economy. He added that partnerships with leading banks like UBL will help LCCI members move towards secure and modern financial systems.
UBL representatives said the bank is committed to promoting digital banking and providing customized financial solutions to chambers and trade bodies.
Senior Vice President LCCI Tanveer Ahmed Sheikh, Vice President LCCI Khurram Lodhi, Vice President SAARC Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mian Anjum Nisar, and Chief Manager State Bank of Pakistan Tariq Riaz were also present.
Both sides expressed confidence that the agreement will strengthen cooperation between the banking sector and the business community and contribute positively to Pakistan’s digital economy.
